Inter yet to approach De Boer with Mancini exit rumoured

Frank de Boer is yet to be approached about taking over at Inter as Roberto Mancini s San Siro future swirls into further doubt.

Inter were taken over by Chinese investors in early June, although Mancini has reportedly grown frustrated at a lack of investment in his playing squad as he attempts to take the Milan club back to the top of Italian football.

Speaking after Inter lost 3-1 to Paris Saint-Germain in the International Champions Cup on Sunday, Mancini failed to commit his future to the club he led to Serie A glory in 2007 and 2008.

Nothing has changed compared to two days ago, the situation is normal, said Mancini.

We ll see over the next few days. My meeting with [president Erick] Thohir? There s nothing to clarify on the subject.

PSG captain Marquinhos laments ´worst game of the year´ after Monaco defeat

Paris Saint-Germain captain Marquinhos and coach Mauricio Pochettino both slammed the performance of the Ligue 1 leaders in Sunday s defeat to Monaco.

The 3-0 loss, in which Wissam Ben Yedder scored a double either side of Kevin Volland s goal, is the heaviest defeat PSG have suffered in Ligue 1 since a 5-1 loss at Lille in April 2019.

PSG have now lost three of their last five games in Ligue 1, as many as they did from their previous 36 matches (27 wins and six draws).

It also represented PSG s heaviest loss to Monaco since September 1999, when the principality club defeated them by the same scoreline in Paris, and Marquinhos did not hold back in his criticism of the display.

It s hard to digest. It s our worst game of the year, he told reporters.

That s in fact the deal with the versatile 29-year-old.

His infatuating nature is hard to resist and Napoli fans know it best.

Inter as favourites? Nobody said so in July – Inzaghi

Simone Inzaghi lauded his Inter players for an outstanding first half of the Serie A season, pointing out a successful defence of the Scudetto was not always widely expected.

Inter are favourites for a second straight title heading into the second half of the campaign having created a gap at the top of the table through 19 matchweeks.

In beating Torino 1-0 on Wednesday, the Nerazzurri moved seven points clear of Napoli and Milan, who were both in action later the same day.

But Inter had to withstand a tumultuous off-season to get to this point, losing coach Antonio Conte and star players Romelu Lukaku, Achraf Hakimi and, to health issues, Christian Eriksen.

It was not necessarily a given then that the champions would maintain their form from last term, re…

Mane to reveal Liverpool future after Champions League final amid Real Madrid and Bayern talk

Sadio Mane cast doubt on his Liverpool future by saying he will reveal whether he is staying at the club after the Champions League final.

Bayern Munich and Real Madrid have been heavily linked with a move for Mane, who has one year remaining on his contract at Anfield.

After missing out on Premier League glory at the weekend, the Senegal international hopes to help Liverpool lift the trophy in Europe s leading club competition for the seventh time.

They will need to overcome Madrid at the Stade de France – a repeat of the 2018 final that was won by LaLiga s champions – for their third piece of silverware this season.

Madrid s interest in Mane has reportedly stepped up after they missed out on Kylian Mbappe, and the 30-year-old intends to prov…

Bayern blocked Lewandowski sale after ´several offers´

Robert Lewandowski claims he received several offers in the close-season but never expected Bayern Munich to sell him, even after he criticised the club s hierarchy.

The Poland striker made public his unhappiness at the Allianz Arena in August as he accused Bayern of failing to provide adequate support during a brief slump in form last season.

Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain were reportedly interested, but Bayern held firm in their stance against a sale, despite the 30-year-old s insistence on airing his grievances.

Lewandowski admits he never anticipated he would be sold but felt obliged to speak out due to the strange atmosphere  at the club.

There were some things at Bayern which I did not like, and I wanted to talk about that. I had several offe…

Suarez encourages Barcelona to sign new striker

Luis Suarez welcomed Barcelona s search for a new striker despite the threat it could bring to his starting spot.

LaLiga leaders Barca have been linked to Lautaro Martinez, Erling Haaland and Carlos Vela as they seek to strengthen Ernesto Valverde s attacking options.

The club failed to bring Neymar back from Paris Saint-Germain during the close season, leaving the squad light on competition for natural centre-forward Suarez.

The 32-year-old has scored six goals in eight LaLiga starts this season but knows he will not always be able to perform at the highest level.

There will come a time when my age will not allow me to live up to what Barcelona needs to compete, Suarez told Uruguayan publication Ovacion.

But as long as I can, as long as I have …
