Negredo eyeing Sevilla exit

Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido has revealed that Alvaro Negredo has made clear his desire to leave the club.

Negredo, who joined the Andalusian club from Almeria in 2009, netted 31 goals in 42 appearances last term as Sevilla finished ninth in La Liga.

But Del Nido has explained that the 27-year-old now wants to test himself at a higher level.

He has said he wants to develop and that he wants to play in the Champions League, Del Nido told Sevilla s club television channel.

One of the (interested) teams is Atletico Madrid and the other is outside of Spain. Sevilla will choose the best offer.

An operation of this type has three parties: Sevilla fc, the club who want to buy and the player.

One of the parties, which is the player, wants to go. Beca…

Olsson set to join Norwich

Blackburn Rovers Martin Olsson is set to sign a four-year deal with Norwich, subject to the necessary paperwork being completed.

The 25-year-old defender has moved to the Premier League club for an undisclosed fee after a six-year spell at Ewood Park.

During last season s Championship campaign for Blackburn, the versatile Swede started 31 games across all competitions.

Olsson, who can also play in midfield, is a regular fixture for his country after making his international debut in 2009.

He becomes Norwich s fourth signing of the close-season, with Chris Hughton s side showing their intent ahead of the 2013-14 campaign after smashing their transfer record for Dutch striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel.

Speaking of Olsson s transfer, Hughton said: We’re delighte…

Lazio outcast Ravel Morrison training with Birmingham City

Ravel Morrison is training with Birmingham City to allow manager Harry Redknapp to assess him.

Lazio have granted the 24-year-old permission to explore a potential return to the Championship club, despite still having two years left on his contract in Italy.

Former Manchester United youngster Morrison had a spell on loan with Birmingham in the 2012-13 season, playing 27 league games.

Redknapp told the club s website: Ravel has come in and he is going to be training with us for a few days so we can have a look at him. That is it really.

Morrison has only made four Serie A appearances in his two years on Lazio s books.

The midfielder spent four months on loan with QPR last season – his second spell with the club but only earned one start in a tot…

Allegri rules Dybala out of Milan clash

Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri has confirmed Paulo Dybala will not be fit to face AC Milan in Serie A on Saturday as the Argentine forward continues his recovery from a thigh strain.

Dybala picked up the problem in Juve s 4-1 derby win at Torino on March 20 and, although the 20-year-old has resumed training, the trip to San Siro will arrive too soon for him to be involved.

Allegri, who will be going up against the team he coached to the Scudetto in 2010-11, insisted Milan, sixth in the table, deserve more respect as they struggle in their bid to qualify for European competition.

This team has some important technical values, recognized by all, he said of the Rossoneri, who are without a win in four Serie A matches.

Milan is a good team, do not ta…

Bayern is like a love affair for me, declares Heynckes

Jupp Heynckes feels Bayern Munich is the only team in the world worth returning to and described his affinity for the club as being like a love affair following his appointment as coach on Friday.

The 72-year-old returns to Bayern for a fourth spell in charge after the dismissal of Carlo Ancelotti at the end of September, with the Italian s last game a 3-0 Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.

Reports quickly began to point to Heynckes as Bayern s first-choice replacement and, after confirming he had received an offer on Thursday, the experienced coach is now in place to take charge for the remainder of the season.

Heynckes has not had a job in football since guiding Bayern to a historic treble in 2013, but confessed he simply could not turn the club do…

Everton’s John Stones 11/10 to join Manchester City this summer

Competition: Premier League
Market: Stones to join Man City
Odds:

Everton defender John Stones has been linked with a move away from Goodison Park this summer, with new Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola reportedly keen on his signature. The England international was denied a move earlier in the season, but may be on his way given how poorly the Blues have fared in 2015/16.

Stones is still only 22, but has been a regular at the heart of the Everton defence this campaign. And while having been guilty of a number of errors at the back, he’s attracting interest from the likes of Manchester City and Barcelona, according to reports. City need more homegrown players, as well as players proficient in a possession-based style of football, and will therefore be …

Forget 1998 – Modric and Croatia´s golden moment must be now

Croatia take on Denmark on Sunday, almost exactly 20 years after their finest moment in international football.

In the 1998 World Cup, the nation s first as an independent state, they met Germany in the quarter-final in Lyon. They had beaten Japan and Jamaica to finish second in their group to Argentina, before edging past Romania in the last 16 thanks to a Davor Suker penalty.

Their adventure was expected to come to an end against the reigning champions of Europe. Instead, it reached its pinnacle. Goals from Robert Jarni, Goran Vlaovic and the indomitable Suker sent Croatia to the last four with a 3-0 win. They went on to finish third, which remains their best performance at a major tournament, an achievement that has never been forgotten – specifically by critics of…

Lewandowski urges Bayern to respond under Heynckes

Robert Lewandowski hopes 2017-18 can still prove to be a successful season for Bayern Munich after a slow start prompted the club s hierarchy to replace Carlo Ancelotti with Jupp Heynckes.

Bayern won the Bundesliga in Ancelotti s first campaign in charge last term but the experienced Italian coach did not fully convince at Allianz Arena.

A difficult pre-season was followed by dropped points in the league and a chastening 3-0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, a result that sealed Ancelotti s fate.

Heynckes, who steered Bayern to their most recent success in that competition in 2012-13, has come out of retirement to answer the club s distress call.

And while Lewandowski knows they are already playing catch up to Bundesliga frontrunners …

Kanchelskis: Manchester derby is a must-win game for United

Manchester United must beat Manchester City on Sunday if they want to keep their title hopes alive, according to Andrei Kanchelskis.

The Premier League s top two go head-to-head at Old Trafford in a pre-Christmas fixture that is about much more than just local pride.

City already sit eight points clear at the summit and a win over their neighbours would leave United with a mammoth deficit to make up, even with 22 games still to play in the campaign.

Kanchelskis who played for both clubs during his playing career feels Jose Mourinho s side simply cannot afford to lose further ground in their bid to be crowned champions for the first time since 2013.

If Manchester United wins this derby game against Manchester City, they ve a good chance to win the tit…

Swansea City are still hopeful of concluding a head for Sevilla striker Fernando Llorente, .

The South Wales outfit are keen to bring in a striker after letting Bafetimbi Gomis, Eder and Alberto Paloschi move on this summer and have identified the Spain international as their top target.

The thirty-one year old is set to cost the Swans £5m, and talks are ongoing between the two clubs.

Llorente only moved to Sevilla last summer and racked up thirty-one appearances for the La Liga side in all competitions, scoring seven goals.
